About Classroom Cafe

Classroom Cafe is a Woman owned LLC that was created in January 2022.  Chef Mignon Otis had a passion and vision to connect cooking with education (especially with our youth) on ways to choose healthier options, but also to teach them how to cook their own food so that they don't have to be dependent upon others to do it for them.  Chef Otis graduated from the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute in May 2022 with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, after switching from a long career as an Executive Assistant/Office Manager.  She values cleanliness in the kitchen, following food safety protocols and above all else, giving our children a firm foundation in a life skill that they will be able to carry with them for generations to come.

Classroom Cafe is unique in that it aims to offer cooking classes, not just for kids in grades K-12, but for their family members too. Moms and dads, grandparents and even aunties and uncles can cook with their favorite little (or big) person at any time.  We believe that it's a win-win situation when families bond over cooking meals together.   Classes can be offered as a single activity, or to get the most out of the experience, a 4-week series is presented where participants will learn their way around the kitchen, learning simple measurements, techniques and menu planning that they will be able to use in their every day lives.

We realize that it's not always possible for family members to step away from work and other obligations to participate in a cooking class.  Child-only classes are perfect for after-school programs, birthday parties and more?  Please visit our Pricing page for more details.

Future plans for Classroom Cafe LLC is opening a brick and mortar that will house a cafe and additional space for cooking classes.  In the meantime, the Cafe is mobile and on the go.  If you have a working kitchen (3-bay sink or dishwasher, cooler or fridge, range oven and counter space) than Classroom Cafe would love to partner with you.
